Description
The Main Street Bridge replacement construction began in 2006 and was completed in 2009. The new bridge will feature a single-rib tied arch with a 400-foot span that will carry separate vehicle and pedestrian lanes. The arch will be inclined at a 10-degree angle from vertical, adding to the uniqueness of the signature structure. A pedestrian deck will sweep horizontally and vertically away from the roadway to provide an unobstructed view of the city's downtown.
