Natchez, Mississippi was founded in 1716 and is located along the Mississippi river. It is also the southern terminus of the Natchez Trace Parkway, a 444-mile long two lane road that stretches from Fairview, Tennesse to northern Natchez. The town is named after the Native American tribe that once inhabited the area.
