Once a separate town, Sants was absorbed by Barcelona as it grew. The Parc de l'Espanya Industrial beside the Sants train station (EstaciÓN de ferrocarril de Sants) is a reminder that this used to be an industrial area, though now it is mostly residential. The Sants train station is Barcelona's main train station and entrance into the city.
The Placa dels Paisos Catalans (shown in this image) is known as the one of the 'hard' squares in the city, with little or no greenery.
