Description

Promenade is an installation done by Richard Serra in the "Monumenta" exhibition at Paris. Monumenta is a series of exhibitions held in the Grand Palais. It was started in year 2007 and every year it invites a single leading and highly influential artist for exhibiting his art. --See: http://www.monumenta.com/2008/content/view/3/27/lang,en/ Richard Serra was the second invited artist in this exhibition. Promenade consists of five massive steel sculptures; each rises 56 feet into the air and weighs more than seventy tons.
