Description
The first stadium was built in the 5th century BCE and was remodeled in the 2nd century C.E. when Herodus Atticus financed the stone seating and the arched entrance. Its stone seats could accommodate approximately 6,500 spectators. The Archivision Collection of Ancient Sites was funded by the Jack Martin Balcer Library Endowment.
