The Stourhead Landscape Garden is perhaps one of the most famous examples of an allegorical garden where Hoare's design of the grounds is a mythological paradise inhabited by figures of antiquity. Like many landscapes of the time, Stourhead reflects the idea that the garden should be a place of thought, intellectualism and conversation.
