Description
The Royal Library also known as "Black Diamond' is a monolithic cube cladded in lustrous black granite, animated by tilted planes and obliquely sheared surfaces. A large, vibrant, space is set on the axis that connects the water with the city - and the new library building with the old. The extension incorporates a bookshop, cafe, restaurant, research centers and archives, a roof terrace and the Queen's Hall, providing a venue for concerts, stage performances and conferences.
