Description
Venus is one of Romania's resorts on the Black Sea coast.
Neptun, Jupiter and Venus were newly-developed localities in the 1970s along the Romanian sea-side. The Romanian sea-side localities each developed differently based on the natural conditions of the site. However, they all followed basic urban concepts. The developers obtained low cost investments, planned for developments that afforded a high level of comfort, and planned for year-round rapid construction.
This image was taken in 1970 by John Schooley, FAIA, during an Urban America tour. Urban America tours allowed architects and planners to visit planned communities and meet professionals involved in their planning and continued development.
