Description
The formal gardens of French inspiration were begun in 1605 by Girolamo Rainaldi but were expanded, redesigned or completely replaced in 1787 with a picturesque style by Jacob Moore. Villa Borghese continued to evolve and now encompasses a park, zoo, museum and formal gardens. The view shown is across a small lake towards the front of the small temple with statuary placed on either side.
